The 2009 Annual Meeting presented by Carolina First Bank

On Wednesday, July 1, Chamber members will gather to celebrate a year of much success and progress. The meeting begins with networking at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. in The Grove Park Inn's Vanderbilt Ballroom.  We will recognize both the incoming and outgoing Boards of Directors for their service to the Chamber.

April Small Business of the Month: Asheville Radio Group

The Small Business of the Month for June is Asheville Radio Group located in newly renovated facility at 1190 Patton Avenue in Asheville. The Asheville Radio Group was established in 2003 and employs 23 full time personnel.  Asheville Radio Group reaches thousands of listeners every week on the radio stations of Mix 96.5 WOXL, 105.9 The Mountain, 98.1 the RIVER, ESPN Radio 1310 BIG WISE, and ESPN Radio 970 BIG WISE. Asheville Radio Group has a strong commitment to the community and has donated thousands of dollars in airtime asking listeners to support local businesses.

Chamber Thirsty Thursday Softball Game

The Asheville Tourists will host Thirsty Thursday 'with a twist' at McCormick Field on July 16, from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. Yes, there will be dollar beers, but this is also a fun business networking opportunity! The Chamber Members will take on the Chamber Staff & Volunteers in a friendly softball game played on McCormick Field. If you're interested in playing in the softball game, please contact James Carter at 828.258.6115. It is free to attend the event. Families are welcome, and the concessions will be discounted for this event only!  Additionally, attendees will also be able to purchase tickets to the Asheville Chamber of Commerce Night at the ballpark, slated for Wednesday, July 24. Only $10 for a pre-game cocktail hour and a box seat for the July 24 game.

 
 

Place an Ad in the 2010 Official Asheville Visitor Guide

Local tourism related businesses looking to showcase their offerings to visitors traveling to the Asheville area can sign up to advertise in the 2010 edition of the Official Asheville Visitor Guide from now until September 4. This magazine is used by the Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau to respond to all visitor requests for information. In addition to the print version, your information will appear in an interactive digital version on Asheville’s expanded interactive official tourism Web site, ExploreAsheville.com. Asheville’s Fun Depot hosting 1st Annual Community Carnival Weekend

Asheville's Fun Depot will host a Community Carnival Weekend on Friday June 19 from 4 - 8 p.m., and Saturday June 20 from 1 - 8 p.m. with a huge obstacle course, moon bounce, carnival games, prizes, and food. The Asheville Fire Department and Buncombe County Sheriff’s Department will be giving safety demonstrations. Phillips Chiropractic, the Asheville Arts Center, and many other groups will be setting up booths, doing demonstrations, and providing a great day of fun for you and your family. At Asheville’s Fun Depot we understand how important each person is to our community and we want to thank you for five years of participating with us in Family Friendly Fun!!!

 

Inaugural Asheville Tourists Summer Dash at McCormick Field

The Asheville Tourists are proud to host the only evening one-mile dash around, presented by Foot Rx Running on Saturday, June 20, at 5 p.m. After the race, there will be snacks and an awards ceremony. Registration includes race participation, a commemorative t-shirt (first 300 participants), post race snack, and a general admission ticket to a future Asheville Tourists Baseball game. Registration can be completed on-line at active.com until Wednesday June 17 at 10 p.m. or by completing the paper entry form at Foot Rx Running on Hendersonville Road.  For additional information on the Summer Dash download this PDF form.
