HR Professionals: Earn up to 4.5 HRCI Credits in one day
The Chamber and the University of Phoenix are partnering to bring a full day Human Resources workshop approved for up to 4.5 HRCI credits. The workshop will take place on Thursday, August 13, at the new University of Phoenix facility in Biltmore Park. The morning session (2.5 HRCI credits) will focus on the art of smart hiring while the afternoon session (2.0 HRCI credits) will focus on a variety of workforce development topics. Fourth Annual Elected Officials Reception presented by Mountain Council for Accountable Development
Chamber members will have a great opportunity to meet and network with public and private leaders from throughout our region on August 20 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Chamber during the Fourth Annual Elected Officials Reception. Elected officials from Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, and Transylvania counties, as well as municipalities in our region have been invited to participate. Bagels and Banter: Healthy Cooking Seminar
Join us as our Doughnuts and Dialogue series goes on a diet and becomes Bagels and Banter. The YMCA of Western North Carolina is hosting Bagels and Banter, presented by Crescent PPO, with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce at the new Neighborhood YMCA at Woodfin on Thursday, July 30 from 8-9 a.m. This is your chance to see the new Neighborhood YMCA at Woodfin and enjoy a quick and healthy breakfast. Leah McGrath, the Ingles dietitian, will discuss healthy meal ideas, and will be presenting with Mayor Terry Bellamy during the breakfast. August 3 to November 1: The Asheville Citizen-Times is offering the lowest advertising rates of the decade and free matching advertising through the Asheville 2.0 Project. New customers of the newspaper have the opportunity to buy nine ads and get nine free. Current newspaper customers can request a tailored program that could double the power of each dollar they invest. Small businesses can run three ads per week for as little as $360 a week.
