Asheville, NC– In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County, Thermo Fisher Scientific announced its plans to expand operations in Asheville, with the creation of 110 new positions within the next seven months.

The 12th Annual Metro Economy Outlook marked the kick-off of the public phase of the Asheville 5x5 Campaign, an aggressive five-year economic development initiative of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC) to raise $3 million to create 5,000 new jobs in the Asheville area.

The 12th Annual Asheville Metro Economy Outlook, a presentation of the latest significant economic trends at the local and national level, will be offered by the Research Department of the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC). The event will be held on Thursday, August 18, at the Diana Wortham Theatre, 2 South Pack Square. Networking will begin at 5 p.m., with presentations commencing at 5:30 p.m.

In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County, Linamar Corporation will host a management job fair on July 5 and 6. The event will be held in the Haynes Building on the A-B Tech Enka Campus at 1459 Sand Hill Road in Candler. The event is scheduled from 12pm until 8pm on Tuesday, July 5, and from 9am until 5pm on Wednesday, July 6.

Asheville, NC– In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), Canadian-based Linamar Corporation proudly announces its newest manufacturing facility in Asheville, with the creation of 400 jobs and an investment of $125 million by 2020. Linamar will occupy the vacant Volvo Construction Equipment campus at Lake Julian.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Locus’s Asheville branch joins other east coast facilities in Boston, Pittsburgh, Miami, and Jacksonville, FL.
