Boasting extended hours, new menu selections and more space at a new location, Artisan Catering celebrated a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on January 20 at 4:30 p.m. A staple in Asheville’s catering and deli industry since 2005, Artisan is now at The Shoppes at Beaver Lake on Merrimon Avenue. Artisan is open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Wine Studio of Asheville celebrated its Grand Opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony January 8. The Wine Studio of Asheville is a wine retail and education center, with a focus on tastings, classes and private events.

The Downtown Market…One. Bazaar.Community - a new 42,000 sq ft indoor Arts, Crafts, Local Produce and Eclectic Flea Market celebrated their 3 month anniversary with a ribbon cutting ceremony on January 8 at its downtown location, 45 S. French Broad Avenue. (Housed in the former Industries for the Blind building.)

The Lexington Avenue Brewery celebrated its grand opening on Wednesday, December 30. The Lexington Avenue Brewery is the Asheville area's 9th brewery. The Lexington Avenue Brewery features a wide range of beers made in house and quality food at reasonable prices. The Lexington Avenue Brewery will open to the public in early January 2010.

Downtown's newest accommodations, Sweet Peas Youth Hostel, opened its doors on Monday, December 21. Sweet Peas features private, semi-private, and bunk rooms at modest prices. The hostel is located on Rankin St in the heart of downtown Asheville.

Buffalo Wild Wings celebrated a grand opening on Asheville's Tunnel Road on Monday, December 14. As part of the celebration the first 100 individuals through the door received free wings for one year.

Friday, December 11

The Law Offices of Marjorie J. Maginnis, PA celebrated the grand opening of their new offices on Clayton Street in downtown Asheville. Maginnis specializes in real estate transaction law and bankruptcy. Maginnis has recently open the Blue Ridge Bankruptcy Clinic office in Asheville.

In November 2009, Craggie Brewing Company celebrated the opening to the public with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 197 Hilliard Avenue in downtown Asheville.

Healthcare Solutions Network of North Carolina held a grand opening and ribbon cutting on Friday, November 20, at 4:30 p.m. Staff and city leadership from Asheville and Hendersonville were on hand to celebrate the event. Healthcare Solutions Network provide step down psychiatric services to Western North Carolina.

The Hotel Indigo officially celebrated its grand opening with a Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, November 19. Hotel Indigo is a 100 room boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Asheville, one block from Grove Arcade. The hotel includes a bar and restaurant, work-out facilities, meeting rooms, off-street parking and breathtaking views.

The Irene Wortham Center Community Child Care Center celebrated a grand opening on Thursday, November 19 with representatives from the City of Asheville, Buncombe County, and the Chamber. The Community Child Care Center is located at 32 Compton Dr. Irene Wortham Center took over management of this Center from Buncombe County on July 1, 2009.

The University of North Carolina at Asheville and the Crowne Plaza Tennis and Golf Resort unveiled the new UNCA tennis courts located at the Crowne Plaza. The courts will be home for the both the men's and women's Bulldog tennis programs. The UNCA tennis teams, students, and facility will have access to the courts
