ASHEVILLE CHAMBER GEARS UP FOR TOTAL RESOURCE CAMPAIGN

The Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce is beginning its 9th Annual Total Resource Campaign to raise revenue essential to fund the Chamber’s programs for the 2011-2012 fiscal year. A cocktail party at the Holiday Inn Biltmore West on Wednesday, February 9 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. will officially kick-off the eight-week campaign. The entire Chamber membership and media are invited to attend the kick-off event.

For the second consecutive year, Pat Fugate Hock of Progress Energy and Jerrell “J” Deaver of First Citizens Bank will lead the volunteer-driven effort to encourage existing Chamber members to increase their investment through sponsorship of the Chamber’s many programs, events, website and visitor center. The Chamber hopes to raise $425,000 to fund its priority goals and programs. Goals for 2011 include economic growth, job creation and retention, workforce development, public policy, small business assistance, tourism marketing, and services for membership. The organization also serves as an advocate for business interests on local, regional, state and national levels.

The Total Resource Campaign concept was developed in 2003 as a result of member feedback indicating a desire to be presented with sponsorship and marketing opportunities in one consolidated effort during a designated fundraising period. A menu of the Chamber’s sponsorship and investment opportunities will be distributed to existing Chamber members in February. This 2011 Sponsorship Opportunities Guide features cost effective marketing opportunities available exclusively to members of the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. To learn more about the 2011 Total Resource Campaign, please contact Director of Events & Sponsorships Dina DeSantis at 828.232.2247 or ddesantis@ashevillechamber.org.
