The Old Wood Company proudly announces the relocation of its Asheville facility in Woodfin to an expanded facility in the River Arts District at 99 Riverside Drive. The move will quadruple current production capacity for the Asheville-based custom furniture designer, enabling the firm to meet growing demand. Over the next three years, the firm plans to create five highly skilled new jobs in fine woodworking and metal fabrication.

Reich GmbH of Mellrichstadt, Germany announced plans today to expand its operations to the United States with the establishment of a precision vehicle parts manufacturing facility in Buncombe County’s Vista Industrial Center. Limited production of precision parts for steering systems, transmissions and engines will begin at the facility in the first quarter of 2011.

Precision plastic products manufacturer Nypro proudly announces the expansion of its Asheville plant with an $83 million investment in facilities and equipment. Over the next three years, the expansion project will add 75,000 square feet of space to Nypro’s Buncombe County plant in Vista Industrial Center, and add 156 new high-wage production and engineering positions to its current workforce of 212 persons.

Curious Sense designs digital games, social media, mobile apps, virtual worlds, and online communities for the media and entertainment industry.

Moog Music, in conjunction with the City of Asheville and the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville Buncombe County, is pleased to announce a $2.5 million investment in a new downtown Asheville company headquarters. On May 18, 2010, Moog Music finalized the purchase of the vacant 160-170 Broadway St., just north of the I-240 overpass.
