How did you come up with your idea or concept for your business? How did you decide on a name?

The concept for Twisdale Law, PC came from my experience working with clients across Western North Carolina who needed focused legal support in intellectual property and business matters. Most intellectual property attorneys are located in larger cities like Charlotte or even out of state, in places like Knoxville or Greenville. That leaves a gap in Western North Carolina where entrepreneurs and growing businesses often struggle to find accessible, knowledgeable legal counsel in these areas.

Twisdale Law was created to meet that need. By centering the practice in Western North Carolina and along the I-26 corridor, the firm is able to provide local, personalized service to clients who are building and protecting ideas close to home.

What makes your business unique in its field?

What makes Twisdale Law, PC unique is our commitment to providing intellectual property and business law services directly to clients in Western North Carolina. While many firms offering patent and trademark services are based in larger cities or operate remotely from out of state, we are locally rooted and intentionally accessible. Patrick Twisdale, the firm’s founder and managing partner, was born and raised in North Carolina and comes from a family with deep roots in Western North Carolina. That connection to the region shapes the firm’s mission to offer the caliber of service typically found in major markets, with the personal attention and responsiveness of a local practice. Twisdale Law combines legal depth with practical business insight to help innovators and entrepreneurs protect what they have built and position themselves for long-term growth.

How many employees do you have? And what qualities do you look for when hiring?

Twisdale Law, PC currently has two employees: the managing partner, Patrick Twisdale, and our paralegal, Taylor Pulley. As we continue to grow, we are considering expanding our team with individuals who share our commitment to the region and the people we serve. We look for candidates who have roots in Western North Carolina and understand the value of supporting local businesses and innovators. We also recognize the unique nature of our practice areas, particularly in intellectual property and corporate law, and are committed to helping new team members learn and grow in these fields. Our goal is to build a close-knit team that is knowledgeable, community-minded, and dedicated to providing high-quality legal support to our clients.

During your first year of business, what was the greatest lesson you learned?

We are still in our first year of business, currently in the later half of it, and one of the greatest lessons we have learned is the importance of clear communication and delivering real value to our clients. We are deeply thankful for the trust our clients have placed in us and for the referrals they continue to send based on the quality of our work. Making sure each client understands our process and feels confident in the legal services they receive has been the most important factor in our growth and success so far.

Where do you see your business in the next year? The next five?

In the next year, we plan to continue expanding and strengthening our presence in the community. We want to connect with more local businesses, attend regional events, and make sure entrepreneurs and startups know we are here as a reliable legal resource. Over the next five years, our goal is to become the go-to law firm in Western North Carolina for small businesses and startups needing help with intellectual property and business law. We hope to grow our team with professionals who share our commitment to the region and build lasting relationships with the clients and communities we serve.

Why did you decide to join the Chamber?

We decided to join the Chamber because we’ve seen the positive impact it has in bringing the local business community together. The connections, support, and sense of collaboration the Chamber fosters are exactly the kind of environment we value. As a firm focused on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs, it made sense to become part of a network that shares those same goals for growth and community engagement.
