Working adults who want to earn a business degree can take advantage of a change to Mars Hill University’s Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree. The degree, offered through the university’s Adult and Graduate Studies program, will be delivered fully online, beginning this summer.  Registration is now underway for that program and many others offered through Mars Hill’s summer term classes.

Award 

  • Gregory Motley, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with Southeastern Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, has been named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The designation distinguishes orthopaedic surgeons from other healthcare specialists as the leaders of the musculoskeletal health team with the level of skills, experience and professionalism consistent with the standards established by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Congrats, Dr. Motley!
  • Two Asheville attorneys have been recognized by the N.C. Bar Association for their commitment to providing free legal aid for those in need. Matthew Roberson and Jim Barrett will be recognized at the NCBA Annual Meeting Awards Dinner in Charlotte later this year.
  • The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Inc. recently granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Physician Assistant Studies Program at Gardner-Webb University. Ami R. Steele, PA Studies chair, program director and associate professor, said the accomplishment recognizes the exceptional teamwork of PA faculty and staff, and valuable contributions from the GWU administration.

Community 

  • Asheville Beverage is pivoting from beverage service to the wedding industry to home delivery services. With a beer or wine order of $50 or more, you can qualify for at-home delivery. Learn more on their Facebook page.
