Crafting Memorable Moments with Herbal Creations and Libations

January 3, 2024

While working with a catering company, Samantha Neesley identified a gap in the market – the absence of thoughtfully crafted beverages to complement the culinary excellence at weddings and events.

“As two people who have been in industry creating craft beverages for years we thought we could fill this need,” says Neesley. “We love supporting local and know that using fresh ingredients can make a product shine.”

Now, with Herbal Creations and Libations, Neesly and business partner Brandon Nagy have successfully carved a niche in the world of event bartending and cocktail crafting. From the heart of Asheville, this dynamic business is changing the landscape of bar services at weddings and events.

Check out our full interview with Neesley below…

Tell us about your business and the role you play in it.

From creating cocktail recipes using locally sourced ingredients, to consulting and coordinating with event planners. Then bartending the event. Our mission is to craft beverages that create memories.

How did you come up with your idea or concept for your business? How did you decide on a name?

I was working with a catering company and noticed there was something missing when it came to the bar service at weddings and events. There was of course alcohol but there was no beautifully crafted beverages to match the amazing food. As two people who have been in industry creating craft beverages for years we thought we could fill this need. We love supporting local and know that using fresh ingredients can make a product shine. I also have a back ground in herbalism and love to infuse healthy herbs into syrup and drinks. That is where the name really originated.

What makes your business unique in its field?

We haven’t seen any other catering companies or event bartenders making quality craft cocktails designed for the bride and groom using fresh local ingredients. We offer tastings of the drinks to help us make alterations to fit the clients pallets.

Where do you see your business in the next year? The next five?

Hopefully working full time designing cocktails for events and wedding in the greater Asheville area. In five years we hope to be able to expand our reach and have employees to bartend the events and give them a chance to be creative and shine as well.

Why did you decide to join the Chamber?

We wanted to connect with local people and network so we can grow as a company while also growing as a community.

What is your favorite part about doing business in the Asheville area?

Getting to see all of the gorgeous wedding venues and meeting the cool local business owners.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your business?

We are professional and fun to work with. Hospitality is always our top priority.
