Tell us about your business and the role you play in it. 

I’m the managing broker of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s Asheville, North Carolina office, where I support a talented team of sales professionals who are local experts. With more than 40 sales galleries in North Carolina and Florida, our company is one of the highest volume-producing affiliates in the Sotheby’s International Realty® global real estate network and consistently ranks as the luxury leader in the markets that we serve. 

We believe everyone deserves the extraordinary; our mission is to deliver a luxury experience at every price point. Our associates provide personalized services to help customers achieve their goals — leveraging our masterful marketing platforms, in-depth market reports, and an award-winning website. An in-house team of 30 marketing professionals creates a comprehensive suite of print, digital and social media services tailed to promote each unique property to a targeted audience of buyers. In addition to custom property brochures, our notable publications include FOLIO, an annual company magazine that showcases our property collection in the North Carolina region. Featuring listings from each market, it is distributed through multiple channels locally and nationally. 

Where did your vision begin? How has it grown?

Premier Sotheby’s International Realty was founded in 1983 with our first locations in Sarasota and Naples, Florida, and a goal of building trusting relationships. We opened our Asheville office in 2016. What began as a family business has evolved into an industry-leading brokerage with over 1,400 professionals throughout Florida and North Carolina. While we are constantly growing our team and innovating our technologies and strategies to suit today’s modern market, we will never forget who we are: the local brokerage with the global reach — the one with the enduring brand and storied heritage that began in 1744 with the Sotheby’s auction house. 

What made you choose the Asheville area?

During such an unprecedented time, our company was able to adapt quickly, become stronger and continue to break records, all while providing safe experiences and the highest quality service to our customers. Last year presented many challenges, yet with sheer determination, exceptional talent and incredible leadership, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty achieved $7.1 billion in total company sales volume for 2020, representing a 37% increase over the previous year.

If you had to give one piece of advice to someone just starting out in the real estate realm, what would it be?

For anyone starting out in real estate, elevated service is one thing that will set you apart. The difference between average and exceptional is how you shape the customer experience and when it comes to luxury real estate, experience matters. It is crucial to understand the market and demographic that you’re working with. Pair that knowledge with local expertise, building trusting relationships, investing in training and certifications, customizing marketing tools, and creating a vast network of connections, and you will be able to create an unforgettable, unrivaled customer experience. 

What does the word “community” mean to you?

From individual residential neighborhoods to our worldwide network, our community is our greatest asset. It is important to us to be engaged and make contributions to our local communities.
