In conjunction with the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectivity, today announced the expansion of its manufacturing facility in Fairview, N.C. with a $1.68 million investment in facilities and equipment. TE’s investment in the Fairview facility will bring 40 new positions in engineering, production and operations to the county. The company, which has been in Buncombe County since 1979, currently employs around 200 people in its Fairview plant and plans to add to its employee base at this location as part of the overall facility expansion.
TE’s Fairview facility produces a variety of relays and electronic switches for the Aerospace, Defense and Marine business unit of the company. With a large global footprint, TE provides engineering, product design, manufacturing and support for customers in the world’s leading industries and has 35 manufacturing facilities in the Americas.

TE has developed a committed local employee base, with an average length of employment of 17 years at the Fairview location, many of whom boast more than 25 years of service.
