Standing with Kerr County: How to Support Flood Recovery in Texas

July 8, 2025

After the devastation of Hurricane Helene last fall, Western North Carolina experienced firsthand the power of the Chamber network and the broader business community in a time of crisis. Individuals, businesses, and fellow Chambers from across the country extended compassion and support, helping us get back on our feet.

Now, we have an opportunity to pay it forward.

On July 4, catastrophic flash flooding struck Kerrville, Texas, and surrounding areas, resulting in loss of life and widespread damage to homes, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. In response, the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce has launched the Kerrville Area Rebuilding and Recovery Fund to assist affected Chamber members with immediate and long-term needs such as:

  • Business repairs
  • Façade and signage restoration
  • Utility bill assistance
  • Gap funding for uninsured losses

This effort mirrors the kind of support our local businesses needed after Helene – and it’s one we recognize deeply.

How to help:

  • Donate to the Kerrville Area Rebuilding & Recovery Fund – Supports Kerrville Chamber members whose businesses were affected. Give here.
  • Support the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country – Helps impacted nonprofits and individuals, many of whom support Kerrville’s vital tourism economy. Donate here.

Whether you make a donation, share these resources, or simply keep the Kerrville community in your thoughts, your support matters. Just as we did after Helene, Kerrville will recover – and our shared strength will help them get there.
