From touring the city and learning how Asheville works, to sharpening your professional brand, building real relationships with young professionals, and connecting directly with employers offering internships and career opportunities—Next AVL is more than a program. It’s your front-row seat to what’s possible when preparation meets opportunity.

LIVE | Get to Know Asheville (Jan. 30th)

Discover what it really takes to live well—and stay—in Asheville.

This session is your inside look at Asheville beyond the postcard views. Learn how the local economy works, what makes different neighborhoods unique, and how cost of living, transportation, and community all connect. You’ll hear directly from city leaders and then hop aboard a guided trolley tour to experience Asheville through a new lens.

Perfect for students thinking about building a future here, not just passing through.

Outcome: Understand how to navigate life in Asheville and make informed decisions about living here after graduation.

WORK | Own Your Story (Feb. 27th)

Learn how to talk about yourself with confidence—and get noticed by professionals.

This interactive workshop helps you connect your skills, interests, and experiences to real career paths in high-growth industries. You’ll explore professional branding, body language, and how to confidently introduce yourself in both casual and professional settings. Through hands-on activities and role-play, you’ll practice telling your story in a way that feels authentic and impactful.

Outcome: Walk away with clarity, confidence, and tools to speak about yourself like a professional.

PLAY | Connect & Belong (March 30th)

Build real connections while experiencing Asheville’s social scene.

Careers don’t grow in isolation—and neither should you. This session brings students together with Propel AVL young professionals for a fun, low-pressure downtown trivia experience. It’s all about networking without the awkwardness, meeting people who were once in your shoes, and learning how community and connection play a role in long-term success.

Outcome: Expand your network, make genuine connections, and feel more at home in Asheville.

THRIVE | Internship & Employer Social (April 3rd)

Put everything you’ve learned into action.

This exclusive, student-only event connects you directly with employers offering internships and early-career opportunities. Designed as a social—not a career fair—you’ll engage in meaningful conversations, practice your professional presence, and get first access to high-demand employers actively looking for talent like you.

Outcome: Build real employer connections and open doors to internships and career opportunities.
