Accomplishment:

AdventHealth Hendersonville has announced its Cancer Services team has received renewal of its three-year accreditation through The Commission on Cancer (CoC), a quality program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS). To earn voluntary CoC accreditation, a cancer program must meet 34 CoC quality care standards, be evaluated every three years through a survey process, and maintain levels of excellence in the delivery of comprehensive patient-centered care. Eblen Charities, Ingles Markets, WLOS and iHeartMedia are teaming up for the 11th Annual Ingles Magical Christmas Toy Drive to help provide thousands of gifts to children this holiday season. The drive-through event will be held at the Ingles Store #31 at 151 Smokey Park Hwy, Asheville NC 28806. Hours for the Toy Drive are Thursday December 1st – 5:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday December 2nd – 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and Saturday December 3rd – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. They are accepting new, unwrapped toys, books, clothing, and gift cards, as well as monetary donations. For everyone who donates a $10 toy or makes a $10 minimum monetary donation, will be entered into a drawing for $2600 from Ingles Markets, that will be announced the following Monday on Star 104.3.

AdventHealth has welcomed Rachel Bloomer, LCSW to her new role in the AdventHealth Medical Group Psychiatry at Medical Office Building* Bloomer is a licensed clinical social worker who provides individualized, outpatient therapy. Bloomer earned her bachelor’s degree in recreation and education from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM. She then went on to earn her Master of Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. She has experience working in the clinical setting, as well as in program development and management. Read more.

Opportunity:

Pisgah Legal Services is seeking to hire a Program Director of Pro Bono Services.  The Program Director of Pro Bono Services is a dynamic new attorney role to support the organization’s large and growing base of attorney volunteers through the Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyer Program (MAVL) and the Emeritus Program (EAGLE) for retired attorneys.
