  • Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG) and BKD have agreed to merge effective June 1, 2022, to create a new, national professional services firm. The new firm will have a significantly larger national presence—ranked number eight—allowing them to quickly pivot to new opportunities and challenges as they arise.   • The Asheville Home Builders Association (AHBA) has announced that three builder members were recognized nationally at the International Builders’ Show.  At the Best in American Living™ Awards (BALA Awards), Milestone Contracting, LLC won 2 awards for their Villa Nova Modern Home: Best in the Region Middle Atlantic, and a Platinum Award for Single-Family Custom Home between 3,001 – 4,000 sq. ft (architect: Brickstack Architects). You can virtually tour this home at ParadeofHomesAsheville.com.  Bluestone Construction, LLC took home a Platinum BALA Award for The Lumiere House in the Single-Family Custom Home 4,001 – 5,000 sq. ft. category (architect: ACM Design). BALA recognizes outstanding achievement by builders and design professionals in all sectors of the residential housing industry. Awards are given to different levels, including platinum, gold and silver, as well as Best in Region and Of the Year recipients. With our instructor-led synchronous classes, hands-on technical training including real-world experiences, plus essential life skills development, you will get what you need to excel in a cybersecurity career.   • Craft Your Commerce, a Mountain BizWorks entrepreneurial program, is excited to present its upcoming virtual spring workshop series, March 25 – April 15, 2022. Sponsored by the American Craft Council, this spring series is titled Beyond the Studio: Next Level Digital Marketing and is designed to help artists expand their knowledge of digital marketing techniques and ultimately generate sales. These classes are specifically designed for those already using digital marketing techniques but want to kick it up a notch and see better results. The series consists of five interactive workshops focused on developing a digital marketing plan, creating more effective social media posts, and cultivating sales through emails.   • Cindy Williams will take the Wortham Arts Center stage in her one-woman show, Me, Myself & Shirley during the period April 10-20, 2022. The legendary star of the iconic comedy series, Laverne & Shirley will share memories of her career and hilarious backstage tales from her lifetime in entertainment. Although best known for her role as Shirley Feeney, Cindy Williams is a versatile actress and comedienne who overcame a challenging childhood to pursue her love of acting and found stardom.
