  • In partnership with two local non-profits, SolFarm Solar Co. recently took part in a training program for marginalized communities that led to job placements. The three-week long training program was for trainees interested in employment in solar energy and plumbing. Funded in part by a grant from Dogwood Health Trust, the trainees were provided with a $15/hr wage for the entirety of the program. In weeks two and three, SolFarm Solar Co. provided three trainees with real world experience where they were introduced to installation processes, equipment, and tools commonly required for solar energy projects. In the last days of the program, SolFarm Solar Co. decided to extend full-time living wage employment to two of the three trainees.
