Award:

  • AdventHealth Hendersonville has a new DAISY Award winner – Kelsey Crisp, BSN, RN, C-EFM works at The Baby Place at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Kelsey continually provides her patients with gentle, reassuring care during intense labor and deliveries at The Baby Place. One of her recent patients was very grateful to Kelsey for being calm and professional during what turned out to be a serious medical situation. As someone with anxiety, this patient was very relieved that Kelsey was able to calmly explain the situation to her. Kelsey’s professionalism and bedside manner made the patient feel comfortable and focused throughout her labor and delivery. The DAISY Award was created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes in 1999 to thank the nurses who cared for Patrick and for them as he battled an autoimmune disease. If you know of an exceptional member of the AdventHealth care team you would like to nominate for one of our awards, visit AdventHealthNC.com/Nominate.

Community:

  • United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County’s (UWABC) annual School Supply Drive is now underway — June 26-July 21! Sponsored by Aeroflow Healthcare, the School Supply Drive is one of the nonprofit’s most recognized engagement experiences and provides our community with an opportunity to support students and families as they head back to school. Because of the generous support from donors, volunteers, and community partners that work directly with youth, last year UWABC was able to send 2,332 students back to school with a fully stocked backpack.
