  • The RunnerBox has been named 2022’s “Best Health/Fitness Box” as part of A Year of Boxes’ 4th Annual Subscription Box Awards.   • AdventHealth Hendersonville has announced the newest recipient of its Sunshine Award. Martha Leonard, CMA is part of the AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Brevard team. Martha earned this award because of her compassionate patient care. She makes the patients feel comfortable with her positive attitude and is quick to ensure their safety throughout their time in our care. AdventHealth Nursing Leadership created the Sunshine Award to recognize ancillary team members who strive for excellence in their profession, consistently deliver exceptional care, uphold the highest standards and collaborate with the AdventHealth nursing teams to enhance the experience of our patients, family members and guests while Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. Happenings:

  • The 34th season of Downtown After 5, presented by Prestige Subaru, wraps up on Friday, September 16 with local DJ Molly Parti hitting the stage at 5pm and Who’s Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Experience at 7pm. Downtown After 5 is produced by the Asheville Downtown Association and held on Lexington Avenue between Hiawassee St. and the I240 bridge. Each summer the Asheville Downtown Association partners with five local nonprofits to sell wristbands at the event. The ADA has given more than $250,000 to area nonprofits through this program.  September’s nonprofit is Asheville Music School. The mission of Asheville Music School is strengthening communities through music education and outreach, while sustaining teachers and musicians in a vibrant music culture. Learn more.
