Happenings:

  • Asheville Outlets is teaming with Yoga Nut to host a Wellness Expo this upcoming Saturday, September 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. with booth proceeds benefitting Catholic Charities of WNC. The complimentary Expo will provide attendees with a wide array of fitness, health and wellness tools including body composition, health and life coaching, yoga sequences, chair massages, educational seminars, mini acupuncture treatments, a biofeedback and essential oil experience, lifestyle counseling and more.   • Asheville Outlets is hosting Drive Electric Asheville on Sunday, September 24 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Spectators will view a wide range of electric vehicles including Tesla’s, Kia EVRs, Bolt EVs, and more. Visitors will also get a chance to test the latest e-bikes and electric scooters, and enter-to-win an e-bike, sponsored by Sugar Hollow Solar. Learn more.
  • The Magnetic Theatre presents the world premiere of The Frankenstein Rubrics, written by David Hopes, running October 7 through 22, 2022.  In The Frankenstein Rubrics, local favorite David Hopes weaves a web of thought-provoking possibilities from familiar threads of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Performances run Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m. For tickets and more information.
  • Asheville Community Theatre will hold auditions for Native Gardens on Monday, November 7 and Tuesday, November 8 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm on the Mainstage. The director seeks 2 men and 2 women. Auditions are open to all in the community; no previous experience is required. Learn more. Tanglewood Youth Production Classes, through ACT, present Fables & Fairy Tales. This performance is by a middle school cast and will be held on the ACT Mainstage on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 6:30 PM.   • Join the Buncombe County Partnership for Children for their free Community Playdate on Saturday, September 24 from 10 am – 1 pm at Rabbit Rabbit in downtown Asheville!   • AdventHealth has welcomed Abby Gutch, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CMSRN as the Director of Professional Development and Nursing Excellence for AdventHealth Hendersonville. Gutch brings her experience in nursing management and her excellent leadership ability to her new role at AdventHealth Hendersonville. Gutch started her career as an elementary school teacher. But after having an amazing experience with a care team while in the hospital herself, she decided to switch careers. Gutch earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and went on to earn her master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University.
