Got plans this weekend? Since the beginning of the pandemic, certain restrictions have prevented Archetype Brewing’s downtown location from being able to re-open under Phase 2. Now, the team is pleased to announce its ability to once again book and host private events as a venue. To kick it off, they’re hosting a  Tap Lounge + Venue Labor Day Pop-Up Party on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th from 1pm to 8pm.

Community 

  • Lutheridge Summer Camp and Retreat Center in Arden is now accepting bookings for short and long term rentals and indoor/outdoor meeting spaces for individuals and organizations. Their campus offers plenty of space for safe social distancing, and a variety of room sizes and amenities at affordable with flexible terms.   • Asheville Community Theatre is launching two 7-week sessions of online improv classes for youth beginning Monday, September 14, 2020. The classes are taught by Chris Martin, who has been teaching improv and theatre to children in Asheville for years. ACT is excited to offer these flexible online versions of class that are accessible to youth across our region who may not have been able to travel into Asheville for an afterschool class.   • Integrative Family Medicine of Asheville is introducing a new doctor to their practice, Aneela Cox, MD. Dr. Cox provides an integrative approach to full spectrum primary care including pediatrics, women’s health, and men’s health. “I was attracted to Integrative Family Medicine’s focus on preventative medicine and how it aligns with my personal values,” says Dr. Cox. “I genuinely want to take care of my patients from every angle, including nutrition, mind body, movement based therapies, as well as conventional medicine.” Dr. Cox is now accepting patients.

Opening 

  • Following Governor Roy Cooper’s Phase 2.5 announcement allowing museums to open at up to 50% capacity, the Asheville Art Museum is scheduled to reopen to Museum members September 9 through 11, and to the public beginning September 12. The museum has instituted health and safety precautions including required face coverings, and timed tickets are required for entry which will be available beginning at 5pm on Friday, September 4 at ashevilleart.org.
