Local healthcare company, Crescent announced that they have acquired Maggie Valley-based Appalachian Benefit Administrators. The move is designed to ensure that major employers in the region will continue to have a local option for their health plan administration services. Crescent plans to close the Maggie Valley facility, but all operations will be moved to its Asheville headquarters and all the existing staff will be retained. The move should be completed during January.
