TukIt Tour Co. is providing a fun, unique way to explore Asheville

May 26, 2021

After a trip where they rode in a Tuk Tuk, co-owners of TukIt Tour Co. Tisha Perry and Shawn Mason both agreed they had to bring the unique vehicles to the streets of Asheville.

“We were at a reunion up north and got into a Tuk and said, ‘we have to have these in Asheville!’,” Perry said. “When it came to the name, we decided when someone wanted to do this they could say, ‘Let’s just TukIt!’ and that would be the way to have fun!”

With their all electric three-wheeled vehicles, TukIt Tour Co. is providing tourists with a fun, sustainable way to explore Asheville on an array of tours.

Tell us about your business and the role you play in it.

My name is Tisha Perry and I along with my fiancé, Shawn Mason, are the owners . We want people to experience Asheville in a unique, fun way. We can pick people up and drop them off at hotels, let them park in our lot for free, and make the day all about them! Our drivers/guides are very knowledgeable and we have five star reviews that reflect the experience of guests. Whether it is a history/city with chocolate tour, brewski hop, private tour, or rooftop hop, we can get everyone there with a smile.

How did you get your idea or concept for the business? How did you decide on a name?

We were at a reunion up north and got into a Tuk and said, “we have to have these in Asheville!” Tuk Tuks were invented in Thailand. When it came to the name, we decided when someone wanted to do this they could say, “Let’s just TukIt!” and that would be the way to have fun!

What makes your business unique in its field?

We have all electric vehicle Tuk Tuks that we can have the clear sides on or remove for open air along with heated seats, so we are perfect for every type of weather. We don’t take groups of people and put them together. When you book with us it’s “your experience” whether it’s a couple or a group. There are LED lights and a speaker for music that you would like to play.

What is your favorite part about doing business in the Asheville area?

We have partnered with so many business owners and people that have become friends. It is a close group where we all try to help one another out.

What else would you like to share about your business?

We are great for events. Bachelor and bachelorette parties, weddings, corporate events, you name it and we will help make your day or event a fun, unique experience.
