WCMS seeks certified application counselor

Full-time NEW position with excellent benefits in a busy health-care, physician-focused non-profit organization in Asheville, NC. The position is grant-funded for one year. The Certified Application Counselor (CAC) educates consumers about insurance plans and helps them complete applications for coverage in the Insurance Marketplace. Bi-lingual candidates strongly preferred.   

Responsibilities  include educating consumers about eligibility and enrollment through the Marketplace, assessing consumers’ needs, addressing consumers’ needs appropriately, assisting consumers in completing and submitting an eligibility application for health coverage, reviewing consumers’ eligibility determinations for enrollment in health coverage and premium tax or cost-sharing reductions, facilitating the comparison and selection of Qualified Heath Plans, and assisting individuals with enrollment. .

The CAC will develop marketing/educational materials (brochures, website) to disseminate to practices and patients, develop ongoing continuing education plans, work closely with the Project Access® Team, and meet weekly with same to review metrics, resolve patient issues, etc.
Requirements include: Must pass CAC exam online. Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred; High School or GED required plus equivalent work experience. At least one year of related experience required. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Speaking voice must be clear, audible and easy to understand on the phone and in person.
