Sandy’s devastation has inspired many to seek out volunteer opportunities within the American Red Cross. They spent this week preparing trained volunteers for deployment to places such as eastern North Carolina, the Baltimore/DC area, New Jersey, Connecticut, and New York.
This Saturday, American Red Cross is offering a New Volunteer Training that may allow new & spontaneous volunteers to respond to this and future disasters.Training is Saturday, November 3rd, 9 am until 2 pm. Training locations are the Asheville Office, 100 Edgewood Rd. (to register, call 828-258-3888, ext. 220) or the Greenville Office, 940 Grove Rd. (to register, call 864-282-8660).
