Costume Drama: A Fashion Show: Asheville Community Theatre’s signature fundraiser features a designs from 40 local designers competing in four different categories: Tape, Nature, Inflatables, and Christmas in July. The audience selects the Category and Best of Show winners with ballot style voting. The event will also feature a pre- and a post-show party and a silent auction – where, among other fabulous items, you can bid on selected garments from the show! This eclectic evening of inventive fashion has quickly become one of the highlights of the Asheville event calendar and sells out every year! Directed by Sara Fields. Performance is Friday, July 10, 2015 at 7:30 pm with pre-show party beginning at 6:30 pm. Business Sings Broadway: This star-studded, dazzling fundraiser is features 28 of Asheville’s most talented business professionals singing their “Broadway show tune” hearts out for Asheville Community Theatre! We’re putting doctors, dentists, lawyers, bankers, teachers, professors, hair salon owners, restaurant owners, life and business coaches, realtors and more in the spotlight to sing in this fun event. Directed by Jerry Crouch with musical direction by Lenora Thom. Performance is Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $20.00 and are available online at www.ashevilletheatre.org, over the phone at 828-254-1320, or in person at the Asheville Community Theatre Box Office.

Auditions for Young Frankenstein: Auditions for Young Frankenstein will be held July 25-26, 2015 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Asheville Community Theatre. The electrifying musical adaptation of Mel Brooks’ monstrously funny cult comedy film features a large cast.  Auditions are open to all in the community, no previous experience required. Directed by Jerry Crouch with musical direction by Chuck Taft.

Storytelling series Listen to This:In the vein of “The Moth” or “This American Life,” Listen to This features stories and original songs from locals. July’s installment will be presented on July 30, 2015 at 7:30 pm in 35below. Hosted by Tom Chalmers. Tickets are $15.00.
