Biltmore Property Group, LLC (BPG) is pleased to announce two new acquisitions to their real estate portfolio. The Shops at Western Plaza is a 203,489 square foot center located at 4315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN. The shopping center features well-known brands such as The Fresh Market, CVS, Jos. A. Bank, and Tuesday Morning along with many well established local merchants and restaurants.
BPG also purchased Melrose Place, another upscale shopping center located at 5614 Kingston Pike in Knoxville. It is home to Talbots, M.S. McClellan, and Sherwin Williams Decorating Center.
BPG brings to the local community extensive industry experience in leasing, management, and property development. They will have a regional office at Melrose Place headed by Regional General Manager, Morgan Bromley, who stated, “We are thrilled to acquire two well known shopping centers in Knoxville and plan to make improvements, enhance the tenant mix and continue to manage them as first class shopping centers for years to come. We look forward to being a part of Knoxville and its continued growth.
As described in The Knoxville Metropulse: Western Plaza was built in the 1950’s and was originally anchored by Kroger’s and Woolworth’s with a bowling alley on a lower level. In the mid 1980’s, the shopping center was expanded to include newly developed stores in an area now known as “The Shops at Western Plaza”. What had once been a mere shopping center became an upscale landmark.
Melrose Place opened in 1987 with M.S. McClellan, a longtime Knoxville tradition for upscale men and women’s clothing. Soon to follow in 1988 was Talbot’s, which eventually expanded to include Talbot’s Petites. The continued and successful presence of these two anchors and the most recent addition of Sherwin-Williams Home Store is a testament to the shopping center and its location.
Both of these centers are strategically located in the Bearden Business District, Knoxville’s premier destination for art, fashion, design and cuisine.
