Two big hires in the legal world—Roberts & Stevens welcomes Elizabeth Dechant and The Van Winkle Law Firm adds attorney Martin Moore to the firm. In other news, Asheville School will host an App Development Summer Camp and Chimney Rock has a hiring fair coming up February 20th.

Achievement

  • Compassionate Home Care, a division of Four Seasons, announced this week that it received the distinguished Best of Home Care Leader in Excellence Award from Home Care Pulse, the leading firm in quality assurance for home care. The Leader in Excellence Award is the highest recognition awarded by Home Care Pulse and is given to select home care businesses that consistently rank among the very highest in 10 or more quality metrics.

Hire

  • On Feb. 5, 2019, the Board of Commissioners appointed Avril Pinder of New Hanover County, North Carolina as County Manager after a rigorous search process. Pinder has been serving as Deputy County Manager for New Hanover County since 2015 and prior to that as Assistant County Manager and Finance Director.
  • Elizabeth Tramm Dechant has joined Roberts & Stevens Law Firm’s bankruptcy, collections and creditors’ rights team. Dechant will focus her practice on creditor representation and bankruptcy matters. She has experience advising clients on various aspects of restructurings, including asset sales, mergers, refinances, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings. Before joining Roberts & Stevens, she was an associate in the Atlanta and Chicago offices of a major law firm, where she represented distressed companies, secured lenders, equity holders, and buyers in in-court and out-of-court restructurings and workouts.
  • The Van Winkle Law Firm announced today that attorney Martin Moore has joined the firm as an associate in its litigation practice group. Moore will work with the firm’s litigation team representing clients in both personal and business disputes.

Innovation

  • This year at Asheville School’s App Development Summer Camp, teenagers will enter the camp with little to no coding experience and leave with experience coding augmented reality apps and games for iPhones and iPads. App Development Summer Camp is a unique experience for teenagers across the U.S. and abroad who are interested in learning how to make exciting new apps using Apple’s Swift programming language.

Outreach

  • On December 7, 2018, the 77th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Four Seasons was privileged to honor U.S. Army National Guard veteran Sammy D. Bruce of Hendersonville with a special pinning ceremony. Mr. Bruce is the 400th veteran hospice patient to be recognized since Four Seasons began partnership in the We Honor Veterans program in 2014. Bruce completed basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC and was a Private in the artillery division in 1963.
