She earned her bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and went on to complete both her Master of Science in medicine and physician assistant certification at Western Michigan University. A new documentary film about Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is set to be released soon. Since its creation in 1995, the Imagination Foundation has mailed more than 135 million books to children in its program. The film will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Dolly Parton’s passion for increasing literacy rates and the effects its had on children. The Asheville premiere is on Thursday, April 2nd. The Buncombe County Partnership for Children and the Literacy Council of Buncombe County have been affiliates of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library since 2015. This week, they mailed 2,800+ books to kids in Buncombe County. The documentary will screen in Asheville at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 2nd at the Regal Biltmore Grand.
