In October, Avadim will have its Theraworx Relief on the shelf at Target, the nation’s number two retailer. Wells Fargo recently announced its community highlights of 2017, which totaled over $1.1M in philanthropic investment. Spirit Airlines is celebrating the launch three new nonstop flights, and Immedion LLC is pleased to announce it has nearly completed the acquisition of Spartanburg-based Integral Solutions Group.

Announcement

  • Spirit Airlines will be celebrating the launch of new nonstop service at Asheville Regional Airport to three destinations beginning Thursday, Sept. 6. Spirit will celebrate the inaugural flight to Tampa with live music, a ribbon cutting, and brief comments at the airport. They will also be presenting a $10,000 check to the winning Spirit Giving local charity. The winning organization will be the one that earned the most online votes.
  • Two Mars Hill University nursing students have been recognized for their accomplishments within the university’s Judge-McRae School of Nursing. Haley Sparrow, a senior from Gastonia, North Carolina, received the Strom Scholarship, and Tonya Hooper, a junior from Hilo, Hawaii, received the Wood Scholarship.
  • The Board of the Friends of the WNC Nature Center is excited to welcome Karen Babcock as their new Executive Director.
  • The Four Seasons Annual Volunteer Appreciation and Exemplar Awards event treated guests to a farm-to-table dinner with live music and gifts of local honey from The Bee Charmer in Asheville. Volunteers from across Western North Carolina joined staff and event sponsors in the Technology Center Conference Hall at Blue Ridge Community College for an evening of fun, remembrances and awards.
  • Pardee UNC Health Care announced today that Thomas Hooker, D.O., a board-certified pulmonologist and sleep medicine physician, has joined Carolina Lung and Sleep at Pardee, located at 705-A 6th Avenue West in Hendersonville. Dr. Hooker is fellowship-trained in pulmonary medicine and critical care.

Expansion

  • Immedion LLC, a South Carolina-based provider of data center, Cloud and managed services, is pleased to announce it has completed the acquisition of Spartanburg-based Integral Solutions Group (ISG) following the satisfactory completion of all outstanding requirements.
  • Avadim Technologies Inc. announced today that the nation’s number two retailer, Target, will launch Theraworx® Relief for its loyal consumers who suffer from muscle cramps and spasms and symptoms associated with Restless Legs Syndrome. Target, the nation’s largest retailer behind Walmart, will make Theraworx® Relief available in October 2018.
  • The nonprofit YMCA of Western North Carolina is set to open its eighth local branch this Saturday in Black Mountain.
    The Black Mountain YMCA, formerly the Cheshire Fitness Club, is in the Village of Cheshire off Hwy. 9. The 17,000-square foot wellness facility features a fitness area, indoor pool, exercise studio, and child care center.

  • Wells Fargo recently announced its community highlights of 2017, which totaled over $1.1M in philanthropic investment, 4,519 volunteer hours from team members, and an impactful financial literacy campaign. They also reached 954 students through the Reading First program and distributed 530 books to children.
  • Champion Credit Union’s first Community CONNECT Week is nearing. Members of their team are dedicating September 10th – 15th, 2018 entirely to community service. During the week, they will be partnering with various organizations in Buncombe and Haywood counties, as well as in Henderson County, where their newest branch will be opening in early 2019.
