Christopher’s Computers receives Small Business of the Month Award

October 9, 2012

We are pleased to recognize Christopher’s Computers as the Asheville Chamber’s Small Business of the Month. Read on for our interview with founder and owner Christopher Johns.

Tell us a little about Christopher’s Computers…
Christopher’s Computers began as a solo company in Christopher Johns’ spare room in 2004.  Starting off as mobile computer repair in Asheville, Christopher’s talent with fixing computers coupled with the rare ability of connecting with each customer became known.  From the strong, steady growth of loyal customers Christopher served, there became a need for more people in our company to help maintain the growth.
There are now 3 full-time employees at the Merrimon Avenue location.  Having a storefront in an easily accessible area of Asheville has enabled Christopher’s Computers to serve more than simply on-site customers.  The company now builds custom ordered computers to specific company and home-owner needs, and is able to support multiple customers’ needs through our store.

What makes Christopher’s Computers unique?
What makes Christopher’s Computers unique is our ability to really connect with customers to understand the computer problems they are facing, as well as engage thoughtful, conscious processes to overcome the issues.  The goal, as Asheville’s local computer shop, is to positively impact our community with strong, consistent and personalized computer work so that there is a reliable and trustworthy bond with each customer.  When a community has such lasting relationships with the business services they value the most, the community thrives.
Any company highlights you’d like to share? What are you most proud of?
Christopher’s Computers has regularly increased their community involvement, donations and fundraising events for Asheville and Western North Carolina.  By hosting ‘Lunch-n-Learns’ in retirement communities, donating computers and services to local charities and fund-raising for non-profits, Christopher’s Computers is happy to be a part of what makes Asheville and all of Western North Carolina a wonderful place to live.
Christopher’s Computers has been recognized twice in the Mountain Xpress “Best of Computer Repair” category.
What’s next on the horizon?
To continue to provide “peace of mind” to our wonderful customers. To continue to grow and provide employment for several Ashevillians. To continue increasing our knowledge and awareness of what is transpiring in the world of computers and to be able to pass that knowledge and understanding on to our clientele
