JB Media Group, a leading Internet marketing firm in Asheville, North Carolina, is excited to announce the recent hiring of Adrianne Gordon as the Director of Marketing and Operations.
Previously, Gordon worked with JB Media Group owner and founder, Justin Belleme, as a business counselor where she advised him on business planning, growth management, and human resources. She also helped him prepare the loan package for purchase of a new office space in West Asheville.
“The support I received from Adrianne was so invaluable for JB Media Group, that I asked her to join our team,” said Belleme. “I see Adrianne as a key component to future growth and expansion for JB Media Group.”
Gordon is an experienced counselor and trainer for topics which support the creation and sustainability of small businesses, and spent the last ten years with the Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at Western Carolina University’s office in Asheville.
At SBTDC, Gordon held several roles throughout her decade long career including internal trainer and peer leadership coach, statewide e-marketing specialist to SBTDC clients, NC Business Disaster Loan Program manger, and general business counselor to business owners like Belleme. In a career spanning many highlights, Gordon was the recipient of SBTDC Executive Director’s Award of Excellence, and a graduate of their Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) program.
“I was ready for a new challenge and am thrilled to join the talented team of writers, strategists, trainers and public relations professionals at JB Media Group,” said Gordon. “I have seen first hand the impact JB Media has on their clients and it’s exciting to contribute to the company’s future.”
Belleme launched JB Media Group in April of 2011 with three part-time employees, and now, with the addition of Gordon, the company has grown to include a nine-person team.
The company’s six-week marketing training program, the JB Media Institute, which Belleme co-teaches along with other members of his staff, is also growing. It’s currently in its third session, with a special Legal Marketing Institute to launch at the end of April.
In addition to bringing her business expertise to support operations, Gordon will work to bring JB Media Group to the national stage through speaking engagements and new partnerships outside of the region.
Gordon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Warren Wilson College, and a Master of Business Administration from Western Carolina University. After graduating from Warren Wilson, she served as a Family Health Educator, in Nashville, TN, through AmeriCorps, and has been a certified Birth Doula since 2002. In another new role, Gordon is the acting Blog Manager and E-Newsletter editor for DONA International, the premier doula association in the world.
“I always tell people that I am a birth support person and a business support person,” said Gordon. “These roles are not nearly as different as you might think. Both are very fulfilling, and involve sharing information, communicating across teams, and empowering others to achieve their goals.”
