JPS’ Sok Heang Cheng named 2017 NACVA & CTI 40 Under Forty

Johnson Price Sprinkle PA is proud to announce Sok Heang Cheng, CPA, CVA, ABV, CFF has been named a 2017 NACVA & CTI 40 Under Forty Honoree.  NACVA (National Association of Certified Valuators & Anaylsts®) and CTI (Consultants’ Training Institute®) partner to recognize the next generation of industry mavericks for contributions in their profession and community.   Sok Heang is one of three selected from North Carolina and the only honoree selected from Western North Carolina. 
 

Sok Heang is a Shareholder at JPS  and provides forensic and valuation services to a variety of clients.  She holds a Bachelor in Accounting from the University of North Carolina Asheville and a Master of Accountancy from Western Carolina University.   She began at JPS in 1999 as a student intern, providing broad services in audit, tax, and valuation services.

Over time her focus narrowed to valuation, litigation, and tax services, and, in 2015, she became a Shareholder. It has been under her leadership that JPS expanded its depth of valuation client services, allowing a greater reach internally and regionally.  Sok Heang is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics, and, Accredited in Business Valuation.

Community and professional involvement are important to Sok Heang. She was one of 15 young CPAs in North Carolina accepted to the Young CPA Cabinet of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) and has held several officer positions with the Asheville Chapter of the NCACPA. She serves on the Advisory Board for both Western Carolina University’s Department of Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Economics, and, UNC-A Department of Management and Accounting.

A champion of wellness,  she is an Advisory Board member of the Downtown Asheville YMCA. She has also volunteered at Manna Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and Homeward Bound.   In 2014, Sok Heang was honored as one of Asheville’s 40 Under Forty.
