  • Mission Hospital has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes Mission Hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Announcement

  • Avadim Technologies Inc. (“Avadim”), the Bionome TherapiesTM life sciences company, announced today the American Journal of Infection Control has published  pivotal study results for its Flagship Clinical Brand, Theraworx® Protect. AJIC is the official publication of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control.
  • AMP-Connect is honored to highlight Sarah Malutich from Reich LLC in its “Women In STEM” exhibit at the Asheville Museum of Science. The preliminary target for exhibit completion is September 2018.
  • South College recently named Dr. Lisa Satterfield president of its campus in Asheville. Satterfield, who most recently served as vice president of academic affairs at the Knoxville campus in Tennessee, has been with South College for nearly 15 years.

Outreach

  • Pardee UNC Health Care will serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Relay for Life of Henderson County on Friday, June 15 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Jackson Park in Hendersonville. Relay for Life is a fundraising event to support the American Cancer Society’s cancer research and patient care programs.
  • In an effort to combat the increasing challenge of finding childcare, YWCA of Asheville is expanding its Early Learning Program to provide care for an additional 42 children starting this summer. YWCA of Asheville’s Early Learning Program is a five-star, licensed center focused on high-quality early childhood education. Its team of certified teachers has over 370 years of collective experience.
  • The nationally recognized WNC beer scene is collaborating again, and raising the stakes, to bring awareness to the issue of hunger in Western North Carolina. Over twenty local breweries are joining forces to help support MANNA FoodBank’s mission to end hunger for thousands of families across WNC through the 2nd annual Hops for Hunger campaign, July 1st – 31st.
