We hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the Fourth of July. Let’s also celebrate this big news from GE Aviation: the aircraft engine manufacturer earned a record-setting $55 billion in orders at the Paris Air Show.

Announcement 

  • GE Aviation employees in Asheville will support the record-setting business orders and commitments reached at the recent Paris Air Show. GE Aviation and CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, announced the companies reached approximately $55 billion in jet engines, services, avionics and digital offerings at list price. 
  • Avadim announced that George Washington University has added Theraworx® Protect, Avadim Health’s clinical brand to its infection prevention multifactorial bundles. George Washington University Hospital, one of our most recognized hospitals in the nation, added Theraworx Protect to its clinical protocols after a six month evaluation of the new bundle resulted in a greater than 80% reduction in infection rates.

  • Tukit Tour Co is looking for drivers/tour guides with flexible schedules to not only drive an all electric Tuk Tuk, but to also serve as a tour guide as needed.  The Tuk Tuk has 6 passenger seating and is used for brewery / city tours, and Biltmore Experience Ride through the property. Outreach

  • For the last fifteen years, Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos have supported the Cherokee Indian Hospital Foundation (CIHF), a non-profit organization that assists the facilities and services of the Cherokee Indian Hospital. To date, Harrah’s Cherokee has donated over $150,000 to CIHF, including $25,000 to support the foundation’s 10th Annual Gala held on Saturday, June 29.
  • Friends of the Smokies will host the second annual Smokies Stomp Barn Party on Saturday, July 20 at Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Attendees will be treated to a gourmet farm-to-table dinner, live music by Buncombe Turnpike, a curated silent auction, and square dancing called by Representative Joe Sam Queen (NC-119). Proceeds from the evening will help provide more than $1 million in park support for 2019.
