Women & money conference hosted by OnTrack WNC – Oct. 22nd

September 27, 2016

OnTrack WNC’s Women’s Financial Empowerment Center (WFEC) will host its fifth Women & Money Conference on Saturday, October 22nd from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM at First Baptist Church of Asheville, 5 Oak St. in downtown Asheville. The event will feature financial literacy presentations and workshops designed specifically for women. The event’s exclusive sponsor is Starks Financial Group.

For the fifth year, Starks Financial Group is the exclusive sponsor of the Women & Money Conference. Starks Financial Group President, Dawn Starks, said “In my work as a financial planner, I’ve seen the need to provide financial information and tools that are specific to women in an environment that provides an opportunity for questions and discussion. We are proud to continue to sponsor the Women & Money Conference because it is a great venue for this kind of education.”

The theme of this year’s half-day conference, “Money. Choice. Empowerment.” is designed to reinforce the message that when it comes to money women’s choices are key in whether they move toward empowerment or remain stuck in patterns that do not move them toward their goals.

The Conference provides learning opportunities in a large group setting and workshops on foundational topics such as budgeting, credit improvement, tax refunds, and debt, as well as, topics like relationships and money, investing, retirement, financial transitions, creating a small business marketing plan, and more.

The goal of the conference is for women to feel empowered to take control of their financial lives, achieve economic self-sufficiency and take a step towards realizing their short-and long-term financial goals.

Conference preregistration is required. For more information or to register use the following link www.ontrackwnc.org/women.html. The $15 registration fee includes lunch and all workshop materials. Scholarships are available (request through the website registration).
